OUR BLIZZARD THAT NEVER HAPPENED

The big blizzard of 2015 was a bust!
Rufus and I battened down the hatches, got plenty of milk, bread and biscuits (for rufus) to get us through the storm and woke up to not more than a few inches here in Morristown, NJ, a mere dusting ! I can't say I was unhappy that I didn't have to shovel the 2ft of snow they were predicting. Overall the dusting was enough for my little puppy to run and play. Yesterday we didn't get our anticipated snowpocolypse but we did get celebrate another event little Rufus turned 1 year old.

His first year on this planet and such a happy little guy. He is seriously thinking about starting his own fan page with all the well wishes he got on Facebook.  After we ate our morning meal we went out to play for about 20 minutes. Here is a video of him running around.

If life was just this simple
Later Mom ( me) went back to work finishing up a handmade candy container like the original patriotic one pictured on my blog last week.

This guy is going to a special customer that has also become a friend through the magic of facebook.  We share our personal lives as well as our professional. Check my face book page as I will be making others, each one different and with I'm going to get back to work just wanted to check in! Stay warm and always remember your pets in weather cold weather.

TIS THE SEASON FOR NEW INSPIRATION

Every year I have been trying to better my craft. I search my favorite antique malls or shops. I search for that little piece of lace or old shoe to make my one of a kind dolls. In the beginning of the year I search out old magazines and books for ideas and photos of old Christmas and Vintage Halloween. This year I'm thinking, I will do patriotic Uncle Sam candy container. I love old stuff, it gives me goose pimples when I am around it. I try to pass that feeling on through my work. My aspiration for 2015 is to give you a few goose pimples when you see my "stuff".  In my effort to grow I have purchased some new books for 2015.. One in particular is a book I found it on Ebay: Tina Woltmans, "Christmas of Olde" I am in love with the photos in this books and the collections of old Christmas are to die for! What and inspiration .I am already moving along on some new projects after browsing through the book. If you can find a copy I would highly recommend it if you look Antique Christmas as much as I do.
